Il Monte Argentario è un suggestivo promontorio affacciato sul mare, coperto da una bella macchia mediterranea e ricco di storia.
Esso ospita esclusive località turistiche quali Porto S. Stefano e Porto Ercole, e proprio quest’ultima sarà la meta di una tranquilla camminata alla scoperta delle varie fortezze spagnole che lo sovrastano da ogni lato.
Esse facevano parte del sistema difensivo di quello che fu denominato “Stato dei Presidi” il quale si estendeva per tutta la costa maremmana; costituito dal 1557 da un trattato tra Filippo II° di Spagna e Cosimo I° duca di Firenze.
In questa singolare e facile escursione toccheremo i Forti che sovrastano Porto Ercole (Forte S. Caterina, Forte Filippo, La Rocca e Forte Stella) passando su panoramiche stradine e sentieri a picco sul mare.
La gita sarà inoltre l’occasione per visitare l’oasi WWF di Orbetello un bellissimo ecosistema lacustre protetto dove poter ammirare un infinita varietà di uccelli nel loro habitat naturale.
Inoltre avremo la possibilità di visitare “Il giardino dei Tarocchi” una fantasmagorica opera d’arte dilatata su circa 2 ettari di terreno nelle vicinanze di Capalbio, creata dall’artista svizzera Niki de Saint Phalle, la quale attingendo dalle carte dei Tarocchi, ha creato 22 sculture monumentali e coloratissime con l’intento di trasmettere il senso della magia dello stupore e del mistero, in una sorta di poetico messaggio esistenziale per rappresentare la “città ideale”.
Monte Argentario is a picturesque promontory overlooking the sea, covered by a beautiful Mediterranean vegetation and rich in history.It hosts exclusive tourist resorts such as Porto S. Stefano and Porto Ercole, and it will be the destination of a quiet walk to discover the various Spanish fortresses that dominate it from all sides.They were part of the defensive system of what was called the “State of the Presidia” which extended throughout the Maremma coast; constituted since 1557 by a treaty between Philip II of Spain and Cosimo I duke of Florence.In this singular and easy excursion we will touch the Forts that overlook Porto Ercole (Forte S. Caterina, Forte Filippo, La Rocca and Forte Stella) passing over panoramic roads and paths overlooking the sea.The trip will also be an opportunity to visit the WWF oasis of Orbetello, a beautiful protected lake ecosystem where you can admire an infinite variety of birds in their natural habitat.In addition we will have the opportunity to visit “The Garden of the Tarot” a phantasmagoric work of art spread over about 2 hectares of land near Capalbio, created by the Swiss artist Niki de Saint Phalle, who created from the Tarot cards, created 22 monumental and colorful sculptures with the intention of transmitting the sense of the magic of wonder and mystery, in a sort of poetic existential message to represent the “ideal city”.
