Soglia del Paradiso”, come lo definì il Petrarca; “Nido di rondini”, come apparve a Pio II nel 1461, sorge addossato all’aspra parete rocciosa del monte Talèo, a dominio della Valle Santa del fiume Aniene. E’ costituito da due chiese sovrapposte e da cappelle, volte, scale, associate in modo irregolare, seguendo la curvatura della roccia. Luogo fondamentale del monachesimo benedettino e prima grande meta del Cammino di San Benedetto.
Nascosto alla vista da una Natura rigogliosa, con una Spiritualità latente ed un’arte sublime … lo sguardo è rapito, il respiro si mozza, il cuore perde un battito davanti a tanta bellezza. E vieni improvvisamente catapultato ai tempi di Benedetto e Francesco.

Walking between Spirituality Art and Nature at the discovery of the Monastery of St. Benedict called “Sacred Spec”
“Paradise Threshold”, as Petrarch defined it; “Swallow Nest,” as Pius II appeared in 1461, stands out against the rocky wall of Mount Talèo, dominated by the Aniene River Valley. It is made up of two overlapping churches and chapels, vaults, stairs, unevenly associated, following the curvature of the rock. It is a fundamental place of Benedictine monasticism and the first great destination of St. Benedict’s Way.
Hidden from the view of a luxuriant Nature with a latent Spirituality and a sublime art … the look is abducted, the breath shakes, the heart loses a beat in front of such beauty. And come suddenly catapulted to the times of Benedict and Francis.
